The West Vancouver Community Services Department has an immediate opening for casual Food Services Cooks at the Seniors Activity Centre.

Reporting to the Food Services Coordinator, this position will be responsible for:

  • preparing a variety of foods for the Food Services area and catering orders in conformance with health regulations
  • safe practices and established standards
  • coordinating volunteers in serving and preparation of food and cleaning duties
  • helping with the receiving of orders and inventory control, and
  • performing related works as required

The preferred candidate will possess: working knowledge of food products and methods used in preparing and serving meals and catering orders; working knowledge of health and safety procedures in food preparation and service; knowledge of kitchen equipment and utensils, and the care of these items; ability to work effectively with volunteers, staff and the public.

The ideal candidate will have completed college cooking related courses, possess a current certificate for Provincial Food Safe I, and have related work experience.

The successful candidate will be required to supply a criminal record check and a copy of their credentials.

$20.39 to $23.86 per hour plus 12% in lieu of benefits
